The 2027 season
This year’s FIRST season is called FIRST Canopy, and the FRC game is BIOCORE. The game stays secret until kickoff on January 9, 2027.
Timeline
From registration to the FIRST Championship.
Kickoff is on January 9. From that day the team has about six weeks to design, build, wire, and program the robot before competitions begin.
- FIRST registration and the Kit of Parts. Date to be confirmed.
- Preseason. Recruiting, subteam training, shop certification, and a practice robot.
- Trailside sessions begin.
- Kickoff. Game reveal, rules released, build season starts the same day.
- Build season. Six weeks of design, fabrication, wiring, code, and driver practice.
- Ijamsville MD Event at Urbana High School, Week 3. Our confirmed competition.
- FIRST Championship, if we qualify by winning an event or earning a qualifying award.
- Offseason. Demos, offseason events, and mentor recruiting.
The robot
The 2027 robot does not exist yet, because the game stays secret until kickoff. Through the fall, the team trains on a practice robot so builders, wirers, and drivers are ready on January 9.
After kickoff, this is where the 2027 robot goes.
