CrabBots is FRC Team 12126, a student robotics team at Stone Bridge High School in Ashburn, Virginia. This policy explains what information this website collects, why, and what we do with it. We keep this simple because the site itself is simple.

What we collect

This site has no forms, accounts, or sign-ups. The only information we receive is what you choose to send us by email: your email address, your name if you include it, and whatever you write in your message.

We do not run advertising trackers on this site, and we do not sell or rent any information to anyone, ever. PLACEHOLDER: if the team adds analytics later, say here which product, what it records, and how a visitor can opt out.

Server logs

This site is served as static files by a hosting provider. Like nearly all web hosts, that provider keeps standard access logs that may include IP addresses, browser type, and which pages were requested. Those logs exist for security and reliability, and the team does not use them to identify individual visitors. How we use what you send

Only to answer you and to run the team. That means replying to your message, sending a sponsorship packet, adding you to a team roster or interest list if you asked to join, and keeping records of sponsor commitments for the team budget and for FIRST award submissions.

Students under 13

Our outreach program works with middle school students, and some of them are under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from a child under 13 through this website. If the student is under 13, a parent or guardian should email us on their behalf.

If you believe a child under 13 has sent us information through this site, email us at the address below and we will delete it.

Photos of students

Photographs of students published on this site or on team social accounts are used only with consent obtained through the school's media release process or directly from a parent or guardian. If you want a photo removed, email us and we will take it down.

How long we keep information

Sponsorship correspondence is kept for the duration of the sponsorship and for the team's record keeping afterward. Messages from prospective members are kept through the season they relate to. You can ask us to delete your information at any time.

Who else sees it

Team leads, adult mentors, and the faculty advisor. We share information outside the team only if we are required to by law, or if the school requires it as part of its own recordkeeping for a school affiliated activity.

• Ask us to stop emailing you.

Security

We take reasonable steps to protect what you send us, but no website or email system is perfectly secure. Please do not email us sensitive personal information, financial account numbers, or payment card details.

Changes to this policy

If we change how the site handles information, we will update this page and change the date at the top. Meaningful changes will be noted here rather than made quietly.
