Who we are

Founded and run by students

A rookie FRC team at Stone Bridge High School, built from nothing in one year, aiming at an industrial sized robot on a national stage.

Our co-captains came out of top ranked competitive robotics programs and are taking that into FRC for the first time. Beyond the robot, CrabBots exists to put hands on engineering in front of students who would not otherwise get near it.

Outreach

More than robots

Robotics only counts if it reaches past our own build space.

  1. 01

    Trailside Middle School

Weekly before school sessions run by CrabBots students, with mentor supervision and the same safety rules the high school team follows.

  2. 02

    Loudoun County Public Library

Hands on STEM sessions giving younger students early exposure to robotics.

  3. 03

    FTC mentoring

We mentor and donate materials to FIRST Tech Challenge teams across Loudoun County.

  4. 04

    Virginia STEM Advocacy Summit

Advocating for STEM program funding in underserved areas so more clubs like ours can start.

Session format

Sessions are mostly presentations. CrabBots students walk through slideshows that break a robot down part by part and explain which parts do what.
